Expressway toll waiver lifted

Colombo, Dec. 4 (Daily Mirror) - The Road Development Authority (RDA) has ended the temporary toll waiver that was in place during the recent adverse weather caused by Cyclone Ditwah.

Motorists are now required to pay the standard tolls on all expressways, effective from midnight on December 3.

The waiver, introduced on November 27, allowed free travel on the Southern Expressway, Outer Circular Road, Katunayake–Colombo Expressway, Central Expressway, and the Southern Expressway extension, to ease travel during the cyclone.

The RDA said that the waiver has been suspended as road conditions have returned to normal, and all vehicles must now pay the applicable tolls.
