It is expected that peace will be established in Palestine as soon as possible, Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development Minister Jeevan Thondaman said.

Minister Thondaman said this following a discussion with the Palestinian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Kalanithi Suhair Hamdalla, yesterday.

The Minister was accompanied by Ceylon Labour Congress Vice President and Member of Parliament Marudapandi Rameswaran, Deputy Vice President and former Member of Parliament S. Rajadurai.

While inquiring on the current situation Minister Thondaman also expressed his condolences on the people who lost their lives in the war.

The minister pointed out that he is in the same position as the people of Sri Lanka regarding the Palestinian issue and that war is not the solution to any problem. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)

Jeevan is speaking up for the oppressed. In Sri Lanka he is fighting for rights of his voters, and his standing up against racism of the Jews against Arabs will hopefully one day be paid back by them. Either way, Sri Lankan more likely to get jobs for their nationality in Middle East compared to people of the idiot countries who support Israel.

He merely expressed his hope that the Gulf area will soon experience peace. After reading a number of negative comments, I'm at a confusion as to what is wrong with it. Those who make negative comments should understand that if the conflict extended throughout the Gulf, Sri Lankan workers would return and fuel prices would go up. The same thing happened to us after the Ukraine war.
