The Sri Lanka Excise Department has reported a revenue collection of Rs. 120.5 billion during the first six months of 2025, exceeding its mid-year target by 2.6%, according to the Ministry of Finance.
The department achieved 102.6% of the projected revenue goal for the period, marking a notable improvement in collection efficiency.
In recent years, the Excise Department has consistently increased its contributions to state revenue.
In 2023, it collected Rs. 226.7 billion, a significant rise from Rs. 178.6 billion in 2022 and Rs. 170.3 billion in 2021.
