Colombo, March 14 (Daily Mirror) - The power tariffs will be reduced by 30 percent only within three years, Power and Energy Minister Kumara Jayakodi told Parliament today.

Also he said it is not possible to pass the benefit of cost reduction of coal as the government usually orders stocks of coal for an entire year at a time.

"We cannot adjust power tariffs in accordance with coal price fluctuations that take place within the year," he said.

Good initiative by NPP government. Cost of living is expected to reduce sooner than later. The country will be better off in 3 to 4 years time with no corruption at higher level. Lower level corruption will also be eliminated gradually.
