Very good decision. Politically motivated trade Unionists cannot dictate terms. Get rid of these guys if necessary. The majority of the general public is with the government.

Strikes, protests, politicalisation, sabotage and destructive issues should be completely stopped. CEB, is overstaffed. Perks, privileges and insurance for the families are provided. It's high time they work towards a progressive and productive objective.

Include Other Public Serving Sectors Too Monday, 22 September 2025 06:37 AM
Good move. Please include any other instructions such as transportation, medical etc to this list of essential services similarly with defence and the police. All employment issues must be brought to the attention of their respective secretaries or Ministers by their trade unions. No one is able to strike- period in these essential sectors.

These CEB employees are used to getting comissions and bribes. They don't care about the consumers. If these people do not come to work let the army go and drag them from their homes and to their places of work. This is all nonsence and should not be tolarated. Sack the whole lot. They are just carrying out orders from te opposition who want to disrupt normal life in the country !!

You can't let trade unions hold the public ransom for their whims and fancies. If not fire the all

This is really a good move by the government, and CEB employees must understand that they cannot go on strike over every small issue. Striking is not the only solution, and they should recognize their responsibility. The new government may not be perfect yet, but we can see that they are trying to do something better for the country. So, why can’t people be patient with the government?

The CEB employees are privileged to get fat salaries and more perks than other semi government employees. High ranking engineers of the CEB comparatively earn very big salaries that are equivalent to the salaries of medical officers. Now they are resorting to an unnecessary trade union action to make the people jeopardise. As we see their demands are baseless and unjust. Therefore the president's decision to declare the services being provided by the CEB as essential service is highly commendable.

Welcome decision. Mr. President you have a mandate to fix this country. No need to be the "nice guy". Use the powers you have within the constitution. We are tired of these people holding the citizens to ransom. Which planet do we owe them a salary increase of 50% when there is an impending rate hike to cover the short falls of the CEB.

Striking leaches are doing so with an agenda. Government should deal with them with an iron fist before it is too late.
