A Gazette extraordinary has been issued by the Acting Secretary to the President declaring electricity, petroleum and health services as essential services.
According to the gazette notification, all services connected to the supply of electricity, the supply or distribution of petroleum products and fuel, all services, work or labour of any description necessary or required to be done in connection with the maintenance, and reception, care, feeding and treatment of patients in hospitals, nursing homes, dispensaries and other similar institutions are deemed to be essential services.
