Eight special trains for Kandy Esala perahera

Colombo, July 29 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Railways Department has announced that eight special train services will operate for the convenience of pilgrims and tourists travelling to Kandy for the Randoli Perahera of the annual Esala Perahera.

The special train services will run daily from August 4 to 8, connecting key towns including Colombo Fort, Kandy, Matale, Nawalapitiya, and Polgahawela.

According to the schedule:

• Special Train No. 1 will depart from Colombo Fort to Kandy at 8.55 a.m.
• Special Train No. 3 will depart from Kandy to Matale at 3.30 p.m.
• Special Train No. 4 will leave Kandy for Colombo Fort at 11.30 p.m.
• Special Train No. 5 will depart from Kandy to Matale at 11.35 p.m.
• Special Train No. 6 will leave Matale for Nawalapitiya at 1.55 p.m.
• Special Train No. 7 will operate from Kandy to Nawalapitiya at 11.55 p.m.
• Special Train No. 8 will head from Kandy to Polgahawela at 11.45 p.m.
