Egg attack on JVP rally: Minister Prasanna wants impartial inquiry, denies involvement
Denying his involvement in the egg attack on JVP's rally in Kalagedihena, Tourism Minister and Gampaha District SLPP MP Prasanna Ranatunga requested the President and the IGP to conduct an impartial inquiry into the incident.
In letters to both President and the IGP, the Minister said that he recognized and respected the democratic right to hold political meetings, not only in the Gampaha District but in any part of the country.
He said that he would not approve such low-level activities and therefore called for a formal and impartial inquiry into the incident.
Minister Ranatunga said that those involved should be dealt with severely regardless of their position.
The Minister also denied some social media posts which claimed that Prasanna Ranatunga was also involved in the incident.(DSB)
