Efforts underway to digitize Labour Ministry services

Colombo, March 27 (Daily Mirror) - A special discussion was held today on digitizing the Labour Ministry to enhance the efficiency and speed of its public services.

The discussion took place at the Ministry in Colombo under the patronage of Minister Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando, Deputy Minister Mahinda Jayasinghe and Deputy Minister of Digital Economy Eranga Weeraratne.

During the discussion, participants shared insights on implementing the digitization project effectively.

Key focus areas included streamlining services for the public, minimising wait times and expanding online service accessibility through digital transformation.

The need to establish a unified digital platform to facilitate services—especially from the Department of Labour, the Central Bank, and the Employees' Provident Fund—was also highlighted.

This digitization initiative aims to save time and effort for citizens seeking benefits and services while fostering a more efficient and user-friendly public service experience.
