Education Ministry issues guidelines for students amid heat wave

Colombo, Feb 20 (Daily Mirror) - The Education Ministry issued a set of guidelines for students to follow during the ongoing heat wave. 

The guidelines recommend avoiding outdoor playgrounds on extremely hot days and refraining from playing in sunny areas during school breaks.  

Schools are also advised to limit outdoor activities during midday hours unless absolutely necessary. Instead, indoor sports competitions and training sessions should be planned based on regional temperatures.  

Additionally, the Ministry emphasises the importance of ensuring that students stay hydrated by drinking sufficient clean water.
