Education Ministry assures action on suicide of Wayamba College of Education student

Colombo, May 26 (Daily Mirror) - The Education Ministry assures to take all necessary action with regard to the suiside of a 23-year old female student at the Wayamba National College of Education in Bingiriya, soon after the report of the investigation team is received.

The Education Ministry said a comprehensive report was obtained from the Vice Chancellor of the Wayamba National College of Education and that an official of the Education Ministry has conducted an on the scene investigation.

The Ministry said steps will be taken to do the necessary changes after reviewing the administrative and academic activities of the entire National College of Education system.

Shut down all Colleges of Education , we don't need them it is waste of time. Instead focus on Universities and produce knowledgeable graduates in Science and Mathematics and then just like in British Private Schools recruit them straight into as Teachers in our schools. Only people who would be against this idea would be all those employed by these "unwanted" Colleges of Education.
