Colombo, April 22 (Daily Mirror) - The government is questioning why some former government members, now in the Opposition, appear so worried about the ongoing investigations into the Easter Sunday bomb attacks, Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said.

The Minister made this remark while responding to questions from journalists during the Cabinet media briefing held today.

During the briefing, journalists inquired why the names of those responsible for the Easter attacks reportedly set to be revealed on April 21 had not yet been disclosed. In response, Minister Jayatissa said, "No one needs to worry about that. Former ministers like Ranil Wickremesinghe, Udaya Gammanpila and even Namal Rajapaksa have been expressing concerns, one after another. I know why they’re worried. We’ve uncovered evidencee suggesting attempts to suppress the investigations over the past five and a half years. Had we been given that time, we could have already exposed the masterminds and those involved. Several individuals have been arrested in this connection. Summaries will be released soon. The Criminal Investigation Department is currently carrying out proper investigations."

I’ve never voted for JVP prior to Presidential election and voted again in general election cos I had no option bcos of main parties’ mismanagement. But now the public are deeply sceptical about how you’ve governed for six months…I won’t vote for JVP again….

Voter, we all have a choice you say you will not vote for the JVP, have you come out of a induced coma as jvp is not the party governing!!. people will be at a loss for word, to think that you have blanked out the past decades of party's that had corruption time after time. Honest politicians are a handful through the years, but were never given a chance to rise up, many have passed. Decades of corruption which eventually brought the country into bankruptcy, where some politicians increased their wealth portfolios at home and around the world and you expect the President and his govt to work miracles in 6 months!!! you must be a reader who was a supporter of the previous govts and or unable to think beyond your nose. Where in the HISTORY of our Govts have any party worked miracles in 6 months?.

I did vote twice for JVP (NPP camouflaged) twice in short succession with great hope but nothing happened so far, robbers and criminals are roaming free, Ministers are contradicting each other……JVP’s vote base was 500k and the rest 6.3M votes came from disgruntled voters like me. You and I don’t have to argue wait for May mini poll for outcome.

JVP realised thst your votes are not going to come this time because they did not find any evidence linking those whom you want to be linked and they are afraid to go against the FBI conclusion by fabricated evidence and stories, so they came up with a brilliant idea of Dalada Exhibition to get votes from the majority of these devotees. It is a shame that JVP had to lean on the same institution they opposed and attacked in the past to gain votes this time. If you remember, Harin, Bimal were making derogatory comments against these institutions.

Well Minister, the problem is not that they are scared, but your people giving mixed messages. If you can't deliver, don't promise things. That was the downfall of all previous SL governments. Slowly, people are realising that you are not any different. That lunatic Dep Minister of Agriculture messing up fertiliser issues, farmers being angry, AKD saying he would reveal names, but nothing coming out, Security Minister saying different things, no one explaining why SL charges 88% tariff for imports from US and a Foreign Minister not being influential enough as he can't speak proper English; the list goes on and on. It won't be too long before you get ousted. Unfortunately, there is no any better alternative either for SL.
