EC announces revised dates for postal voting for LG polls

Colombo, April 17 (Daily Mirror) - The Elections Commission today announced revised dates for the postal voting for the upcoming Local Government elections.

Chairman of the Elections Commission R.M.A.L. Rathnayake said in a statement that postal voting will take place on April 24, 25, 28 and 29.

The postal voting was earlier scheduled for April 22, 23, 24, 28 and 29.

The Chairman said poll cards for all 339 local bodies were handed over to the Postal Department on April 16 and the distribution of poll cards have already commenced.

He said distribution of poll cards will take place till April 29 and people are requested to inquire from the relevant post office if they do not recieve poll cards by April 29.
