Dutch experts probe fire on cargo vessel
A team of Dutch experts are in the island to conduct an investigation into the fire that broke out on the Singapore flag cargo vessel in the sea near the Colombo harbour.
The Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA) said the team that arrived in the island last night (22) have already visited the location of the ship and commenced investigations.
Meanwhile, MEPA said that water samples taken from the site have been sent to laboratories to investigate whether there was any environmental damage caused by the fire.
Also, the Navy, the Air Force and the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) are continuing their missin to douse on the ship. (DSB)
