Drunken cop arrested for unruly behaviour at Magistrate’s residence

A Policeman who was deployed to the security of the Balapitiya Magistrate's official residence was arrested by the Ambalangoda Police last night (24) for behaving in an unruly manner outside the residence under the influence of alcohol.

The policeman attached to the Ambalangoda Police was posted at the magistrate's official residence sentry from 6.00 pm yesterday to 6.00 am today.

The arrested policeman  was produced before a doctor at the Balapitiya Hospital and was confirmed that he was intoxicated.

The suspect is to be produced before the Balapitiya Magistrate today. (D.G. Sugathapala)
