Dr. Palitha Mahipala assumes duties as new Health Secretary

COLOMBO (Daily Mirror) - Dr. Palitha Gunarathna Mahipala assumed duties as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Health a short while ago.
A brief event was held at the Health Ministry amid religious observances.
Dr. Mahipala previously served as the Director General of Health Services. He was also appointed WHO Representative in Pakistan in April 2019.
The Secretary post fell vacant following the retirement of Janaka Sri Chandragupta who was embroiled in a controversy over the illegal immunoglobulin injection deal, which propelled his name to the top of the court's list.
