Colombo, Jan. 22 (Daily Mirror) - The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has announced that the strike launched by doctors at hospitals across the Eastern Province was called off at 2.00 p.m. today.
Following the decision, all hospitals in the Eastern Province have resumed normal patient care services, the GMOA said.
The association said the strike was withdrawn after the Medical Superintendent of the Akkaraipattu Base Hospital, who had been facing allegations, was removed from the post. The decision was confirmed through an official letter issued by the Secretary of the Ministry of Health, according to the GMOA.
