The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has already begun discussions with other parties to form administrations in local bodies where the ruling National People's Power (NPP) has become a minority, SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara said.

Madduma Bandara told the media that the people's votes have gone against the NPP in a considerable number of areas.

Are you serious in teaming up with Rsjapakse and Ranil to gain power of the local authorities? Is it worth? Learn lessons and grow. SJB is the second in the list and do not allow to lose that support by letting Ranil to absorb your party and lining with corrupted Rajapakse. Build the party with a long term view for 2029 elections.

NPP has lost a significant popularity within a short period of 6 months. Now those who voted for NPP, believing in "clean" politics have become disgusted as they could see NPP cannot perform as promised. They are the ones who have not cast their vote. In time to come, going by NPP's inefficient governance, most NPPers who are on the fringe, who were former Pohottuwa or UNP, will also turn against NPP leading to NPPers infighting as that happened to SLFP and UNP. Time will tell how the political tide will turn especially in Sri Lanka, still in a financially precarious situation.
