Discontinue Select Committee to probe economic crisis: Anura tells Speaker

The Parliamentary Select Committee chaired by SLPP MP Sagara Kariyawasam to look into the insolvency of Sri Lanka should be discontinued as the Supreme Court has given a judgment on those who were instrumental in the country's economic debacle, NPP MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said today.

He told Parliament that it is a waste of time and money to continue the committee as the Supreme Court has given a clear ruling on the matter.

The MP, therefore, requested the Speaker to abolish this committee.

It's common sense! Unless you want to drag on with a committee know full well what the findings will turn out to be, eating up time and money. What the general public want to hear are the penalties against the perpetrators. Do you need a committee for that?

What happens from her SC has given a JUDGEMENT/RULING and NO ACTION??. I HOPE the MASSES get together and a CLASS ACTION is served on the CULPRITS. AT THE SAME TIME, a SECOND CLASS ACTION to be set up against the SC'S EARLIER JUDGEMENT/RULING on GOTA and HIS CLAN.

The ruling was utter nonsense, Ranil with the conspirators bringing the country into a MESSED-up state of the economic crisis has yet to be penalized. Therefore, it can not be concluded under the political Judgement of the SC.
