Deputy Secretary General of Parliament suspended

Colombo, January 24 (Daily Mirror) - Deputy Secretary General of Parliament Chaminda Kularatne has been suspended by the Staff Advisory Committee of the House, sources said.
However, Deputy Minister Anil Jayantha and Chief Opposition Whip Gayantha Karunatilaka have been of the opinion that it would have been better to hold an inquiry before suspending him.
The matter came up in Parliament yesterday when Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa called for a report on the alleged sexual harassment of Parliament staff.
The Speaker assured that the report will be submitted to the committee before the meeting.
