Colombo, July 11 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka hopes to go for a bilateral trade agreement with the USA on or before August 1, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Anil Jayantha hinted in Parliament today.

“What the US government has stated in its courtesy letter is that a 30 percent tax will be levied on Sri Lankan exports if Sri Lanka fails to enter into a bilateral trade agreement before August 1. Therefore, the Sri Lankan government will continue the dialogue with the US to obtain further tax concessions before August 1,” the Deputy Minister said.

WHY NOT GIVE 300 ACRES OF LAND ANYWHERE IN SRI lANKA CLOSE TO AN AIRPORT TO DONALD TRUMP TO PUT UP A GOLF COURSE AND I AM SURE HE WILL REDUCE THE TARIF TO 10 PERCENT ( LIKE WHAT THE SAUDIS DID BY GIVING A PASSENGER PLANE AS A GIFT). THIS WILL HELP US BY KEEPING OUR GARMENT INDUSTRY WORK FORCE INTACT AND ALSO THERE WILL BE THOUSANDS OF MILLIONERS COMING TO SRI LANKA TO PLAY GOLF THUS GIVING US VALUABLE FOREIGN EXCHANGE. 300 acres of land is a very small price to pay for the beinifit Sri Lanka will get. Donald Trump will improve it and bring Sri Lanka to a world standard Golfing destination. This is a proper business deal !!
