The Meteorology Department announced that Cyclonic Storm Ditwah [pronounced Dit-wah] is currently positioned approximately 50 kilometres south of Trincomalee.

According to the Department, the system is very likely to move north-northwestwards in the coming hours. Authorities urge residents in affected areas to remain alert and follow official advisories as weather conditions may worsen.
