Colombo, Dec. 23 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka Customs officers attached to the Central Mail Exchange seized 6.201 kilograms of the narcotic drug “Kush,” with a street value exceeding Rs. 60 million, during an inspection of foreign parcels at the EMS Division today (23).
The contraband, valued at approximately Rs. 60,210,000, was detected in a parcel sent to Sri Lanka from Thailand during routine customs checks.
A 31-year-old resident of the Dematagoda area has been identified as the suspect in connection with the seizure.
Sri Lanka Customs said that further investigations are currently underway to trace those involved in the smuggling attempt.
