A contraband of Cocaine and a fine variety of Cannabis called ‘Kush’ worth over Rs.19 million, which had been sent through five parcel mails from the United States, Canada and the Netherlands were seized by Customs officials at the Central Mail Exchange today.
Customs Spokesman Additional Director General Sunil Jayaratne said two parcels contained one gram of Kush cannabis and another contained 50g of Cocaine.
Officials of the Customs Narcotic Control Unit on suspicion held back the parcels that had come from the said countries o three different addressees in Colombo.
The seized narcotics were handed over to the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) for further investigation. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama and T.K.G. Kapila)
