Court prevents YouTuber ’Sudaa’ from defaming Manusha Nanayakkara

Colombo, July 30 (Daily Mirror) - The Colombo District Court today issued an enjoining order restraining YouTuber Sudantha Thilakasiri, also known as 'Sudaa,' from publishing defamatory statements or content against former Minister Manusha Nanayakkara.

Colombo District Judge Sandun Vithana issued this enjoining order along with a notice of interim injunction on the defendant Thilakasiri, returnable on August 7. The enjoining order will remain in effect till that date.

The conduct and demanour of this person, an ardent supporter of the current regime, is so disgraceful that even as adults, it is so irritating and loathsome to watch his YouTube videos (I have stopped watching them). The words he uses in his videos are basically filth! If Manusha et al have done wrong, then let the judicial system in Sri Lanka deal with them. Who is this person make judgements?

Sudaa tells the truith, just that his language leaves a bit to be desired. Millions watch his videos as they are against corrupt politicians who have stolen 100's of Millions of rupees from the poor people of Sri Lanka and they are not happy. We need to catch the rogues and thieves and not harass people who bring the crooks to justice !!

Neither court nor any government branch has a right to subjugate free speech that is a fundamental and an inalienable right of the individual protected by the constitution. Even the emergency and PTA laws are UNCONSTITUTIONAL!
