Colombo, May 28 (Daily Mirror) - The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today granted permission to the Colombo Crime Division (CCD) to detain and interrogate three more suspects for 24 hours over the shooting incident targeting the jeep of former Executive Director of the National Lotterries Board, Thusitha Halloluwa.
The order was issued by Colombo Additional Magistrate Pasan Amarasinghe following a request by the Colombo Crime Division, citing the need for further investigations.
The suspects, identified as the 4th, 5th and 6th accused in the case, were taken into custody earlier today in a joint operation carried out by the Narahenpita Police and the CCD.
Furthermore, the Magistrate instructed prison authorities to produce the other three suspects identified as the first suspect Sameetha Bandara, second suspect Mohomad Faris and the third suspect Surangi Udeshika who were previously arrested and are currently in remand custody, before the court tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
