Cops make U-Turn on Dan Priyasad - First dead, now alive

Colombo, April 22 (Daily Mirror) - Police now say that social activist Dan Priyasad, who was shot in front of his residence at the ‘Laksanda Sevana’ apartment complex in Meetotamulla, is not dead but is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in critical condition.

Earlier, police said in a statement that Priyasad had died after being admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.

However, Police Spokesman SSP Buddhika Manathunga later clarified that Priyasad is still alive and remains under intensive medical care.

Surprising how si many murders are taking place. What's happening with the Police force, why can't they round these criminals/murders and arrest them? Is it possible as a result of so many transfers taken place recently, is the Police force showing signs of incompetence? These murders can drive away FDIs and also prospective foreign investors? What are you talking? Are you not happy that a guy like Damn Prasad is still alive? Police managed to revive him from from his death! They call it "එලොව ගිහින් මෙලොව ආවා." thanks to the Police''. May be this guy will be a very different character after his brush with death! One thing is for sure. He will always remember his meeting with death, and be a good guy for the rest of his life!

As if the NPP/JVP government has been given a special license to ignore these criminal activities because they can do no wrong. They are the super clean and everyone else is corrupt to the core. They can create shortages, queues, keep lying, ridiculously getting exposed but they are untouchable. Why? Because they came to clean up this massively corrupt country and their mistakes, omissions and commissions must be tolerated. They are innocent, inexperienced and we have to live with them. For example the other day I heard a crowd banging loudly on my gate at around 8:00pm when our family was gathered around the TV watching our favourite show. Fearing the worse I opened the door and they shouted ‘api malimaven’ in a threatening voice. That reminded me the bad old days of 87- 89! It was as if saying ‘api policiyen’. What were they doing? They were campaigning for our votes in council elections! This is serious. We the law abiding citizens should be allowed to live our lives peacefully.
