This case may not hold water but will be used as a deterrent for other lawmakers who may be harboring thoughts of challenging the president.

Russel Harmmer Thursday, 30 November 2023 09:13 AM

Now it is clear that when Ranil wants to destroy a person he will do it somehow as he did earlier. Now Roshan Ranasinghe is in his trap.

Dr. Anura Samarasinghe Thursday, 30 November 2023 09:15 AM

Yes, it seems like President will make Ranasinghe to end up in the jail and allow Shammi to independently act on SLCB.

    Sidath Thursday, 30 November 2023 09:32 AM

Wait ! As a common citizen, what i knew was that the statements make within the parliment cannot be challenged in the court. Now, that law has changed? It will be interesting to see the judgement for this case.

    Gona Thursday, 30 November 2023 12:39 PM

Is the petitioner a Batticaloa humbugger? Ignorant about law. Whether its right or wrong, these scoundrels in Parliament are immune. In that context how can one take them to courts. This humbugger Lawyer is Ignorant about basics. His license should be revoked by the judiciary.

    Navi Thursday, 30 November 2023 09:06 PM

Can, speaking the truth in Parliament be contempt of Court?? Parliamentary previledges only when you shout " Kawda Hora"
