Colombo, July 24 (Daily Mirror) - The contempt of court application filed against former Controller General of Immigration and Emigration Harsha Ilukpitiya has been postponed for September 23 by the Supreme Court.
On July 1, Ilukpitiya pleaded guilty before the Supreme Court over the contempt of court charges filed against him over the controversial visa deal. The matter was re-fixed for September 23 to consider an appropriate sentence for the accused following his guilty pleas.
Ilukpitiya has been in remand custody for a period of over nine months.
