Colombo,Sep 17 (Daily Mirror) - The construction of the Kadawatha–Meerigama section of the highway officially commenced today (September 17) at 10:00 a.m., under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake

The project, launched under the theme “Highway to Renaissance,” marks a significant step in expanding Sri Lanka’s expressway network, aimed at easing traffic congestion and boosting economic connectivity between key regions.

Cool and our best wishes When we will have tramp in Colombo and Kandy? In order to reduce the congestion we need some tramp service in Colombo and Kandy areas: Chinese companies might do that if only we have money for that : NPP is making SL as wonders of Asia : this is a different between corrupt and non corrupt leadership: No fraud no corruption and no looting : May God Protect Sri Lanka from evil eyes of our enemies.

This gives lot of comfort and consolation to those who travelled in between Colombo and Kandy . Hope it will be over in time .

I travel every weekend from Kandy to Colombo and back, takes nearly 4 to 5 hours. During this time I loathe the previous government with selected vocabulary for their OWN highway project from Colombo to Hambantota. Passing Galle I see fewer than 20 vehicles to H'Tota and more dogs, Peacocks and Buffalows are using the highway.

Agreed. This is an utter waste of funds. It is impossible to recover at least 5% of this investment during the life time. Adding insult to the injury, an additional Interchange was built after the completion of the original scope of the project with very high cost of demolishion and re-doing to facilitate Royal Family to reach Medamulana via Weeraketiya. You will see that the distance to interchanges of either side is very short!! This is how this country was fast tracked to Bankrupcy!!
