Coast Guard rescues two fishermen after boat capsizes off Mirissa

Colombo, July 27 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) rescued two fishermen after their vessel capsized in rough seas off the southern coast near Mirissa today.

The fishermen, aged 35 and 63, had departed from Bandaramulla, Mirissa, earlier this morning for routine fishing activities when their boat overturned due to adverse sea conditions.

Upon receiving the distress call, the SLCG Operations Center dispatched the inshore patrol boat CG 201 to the location. The rescue team, with the assistance of local civilians, brought the fishermen and their vessel ashore without injuries.
