Close associate of Ganemulla Sanjeewa arrested at BIA

A Close associate of organised criminal Ganemulla Sanjeewa was arrested by STF personnel at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) while he was attempting to enter the country.

Police Spokesman Nihal Thalduwa said he has been identified as a 33-year-old resident of Nittambuwa.

The suspect, Basnayakalage Don Roshan Chathurka, had arrived from Sharjah on board an Air Arabia flight early this morning when he was arrested by the STF personnel and taken to the STF Headquarters.

He is wanted for drug smuggling, soliciting bribes and several murders. (T.K.G. Kapila)
