Changing fuel QR quota day to Tuesdays saves Rs. 30 mn monthly: Minister



The decision taken to change the weekly top-up day for the National Fuel Pass QR Quota to Tuesday midnight would save at least Rs.30 million monthly.

Addressing an event at the Ministry, minister Kanchana Wijesekera said the monthly direct cost of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL), Muthurajawela and eleven regional depots every Sunday would be Rs.19.5 million.

The indirect cost Approx Rs.10 million, he said.

On last Monday, the weekly top-up day for the National Fuel Pass QR Quota was shifted to Tuesdays instead of Sundays.

The decision was taken to reduce the cost of distribution by operating CPC and CPSTL on weekends. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
