Catholic leaders hold discussions with President



Colombo, August 21 (Daily Mirror) - President Anura Kumara Dissanayake met with His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, Archbishop of Colombo, and members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Sri Lanka (CBCSL) at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday morning (20).

During the meeting, the Cardinal briefed the President on key matters discussed at the tri-annual meeting of the Bishops. 

The Archbishop and Bishops also shared with the President the views and proposals currently emerging within the Catholic Church.

The delegation was led by Bishop Harold Anthony Perera, President of the CBCSL.

The meeting, held in a cordial atmosphere, focused on issues of importance to the Catholic community and wider society, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said.
