Colombo, July 20 (Daily Mirror) - Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith never specifically requested for the appointments of Shani Abeysekera as CID Director or Ravi Seneviratne to be appointed as Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security, Director of the National Catholic Mass Communications, Fr. Jude Krishantha said today.

"Cardinal Ranjith only wanted those who were handling the investigations into the Easter Sunday bomb attacks transferred and to reinstate them in their original positions," Fr. Jude told the media today.

He said the church understood that there are certain allegations against officers like Shani Abeysekera.

The statement is a perfect example of lying without saying it was a lies. Reinstating in original position means what? Does it sound different from what has been done subsequent to that request. Then how come they deny it?
