Cabinet approval was granted to amend the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) Act to register electric three wheelers.

The decision was taken following requests from a number of parties to promote the use of electric three wheelers other than those using fossil fuel.

However, there was no facility in the DMT Act to register such electric three wheeled vehicles. The proposal was made to the cabinet ministers by the Transport Minister. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

Go for a small electric car and taxi operations should be regulated and digitally monitored by a govt authority. Otherwise this would be a replacement of the vehicles only

They should allow conversion of any vehicle to electric. While cars like Prius can convert to fully electric even old cars like VW beetle can turn to electric.

Cannotcrely on these three wheeler drivers. They are blood sucking devils. Since the electricity taeiff is increased they will maintain the same story to charge the commuters. The meter system should be strictly implemented by the govt. Will the govt do it or give in to the thugs.
