Colombo, May 27 (Daily Mirror) - The Cabinet has approved the recruitment of 15,073 for state sector vacancies on the recommendation of the committee to review the recruitment process and staff management in the public service.

Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said, based on two reports issued by the committee, it has been reccommended to fill 15,073 vacancies in eighteen Line Ministries, four Provincial Councils and two Special Spending Units.

Amazing. Now we are in target to have 7 public servants for every 100 citizens. Since we have slightly improved finances, now is the right time to use it all up to fill up the jobs 1/2 the people can do if they actually structured themselves and worked properly. Looking forward to the tax adjustments to support this as well.

You guys will not be able to survive if the country again heads towards an economic downfall as people are fed-up with similar governments. Sadly this is always the practice of the political party in power. They promise jobs to their henchaiyyas and when they win, they are absorbed into the government service, irrespective of whether they are qualified or not and most are not!

News item dated 08 04 25 News First I quote........COLOMBO (News 1st); The Cabinet of Ministers has approved 18,853 new recruitments to the state service in a move to address unemployment and bolster the state sector." ....Unquote. .........Am I wrong is saying government doesn't know whether they are standing , sitting, walking, sleeping running, jumping or swimming????
