Cabinet nod to obtain Parliamentary approval for IMF Fund Facility

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal by President Ranil Wickremesighe as the Finance Minister to obtain approval of Parliament for the Extended Fund facility of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The IMF Extended Fund facility and other relevant documents were tabled in parliament on March 22, 2023 and it is required to obtain the stance of the MPs' regarding the IMF Extended Fund Facility and Parliamentary approval is also required to draft laws to implement the main policies in connection with the IMF Fund facility.
