Cabinet nod to import salt

Colombo, May 15 (Daily Mirror) - The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a decision to permit the import of salt for both industrial and consumer use till June 10, 2025.

The Ministry of Trade announced that the decision was made during the Cabinet meeting held earlier today.

It’s always reacting to a situation rather than proactively taking action to prevent one - the theme of this government. The leader says they are learning on the job. When will all these ‘learnings’ and ‘experiments’ last and stop putting the people in undue difficulties? Contrast this with the performance of their immediate predecessors. There were hardly any shortages during their time after they took over a chaotic country, resolved the issues one by one and handed over a stable, well running country to the current administration.
