Colombo, March 10 (Daily Mirror) - The Committee on Public Finance (COPF) questioned the conduct of Sri Lanka Insurance Company (SLIC) and thereby took the insurance regulator to task for this failure.

"I questioned the Insurance Regulator at the Committee on Public Finance (COPF) on their failure to act against SLIC for distorting the insurance market for nine years. Why are powerful players allowed to manipulate markets while smaller companies face strict enforcement? Selective regulation is unacceptable in a fair economy, " COPF chief Harsha de Silva said.

He also questioned whether vaping is illegal in Sri Lanka and the authorities said it was and arrests are made when they are informed of such acts.
