Colombo, July 22 (Daily Mirror) - MP Chamindrani Kiriella who raised a privilege issue against the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) today alleged that it has come up with a false allegation that she has illegally taken over a state land in Hanthana.

"I don't own any plots of land in Hanthana nor have I taken over any state owned land. I request the Speaker to take action against COPE and others who disseminate false information," she told Parliament.

Interesting. It was not COPE who said that, it was revealed by the Government officials dealing with the land matters. Why not you make a damage claim for trying to tarnish your name?
