CID arrests Mervyn Silva over forged land case

Colombo, February 6 (Daily Mirror) - Former Minister Mervyn Silva has been arrested by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at his residence in Pelawatte, Battaramulla last night (05).

Police said he was arrested on charges of embezzling funds through the creation of fraudulent documents related to a plot of land in Kelaniya.

The CID has begun further investigations into the case and said that Silva would be produced in court.

Dr. Mervyn Silva, unlike other so called 'Doctors' specially in NPP has a certificate of his 'Doctorate'. Some people who are jealous of him claim that his doctorate is taken from the Internet and it is a Certificate of Doctor of Kudu. Similarly his certificates of his land is also may be taken from the Internet but he will have some certificates.

Dr. Mervyn Silva was capable in controlling Government Officers in the way he wanted. We all remember once he tied down a Public Officer to a tree for not obeying his order. In spite of the claims that he is connected to drugs and his Doctorate is in 'Kudu' Mahinda Rajapaksa considered him good enough to be a Minister. The way Mahinda Rajapaksa and his son Namal became lawyers may be questionable but still MR has many followers.
