CID arrests Immigration Asst. Controller for providing three passports to ‘Kehelbaddara Padme’

Colombo, May 27 (Daily Mirror) - An Assistant Controller of the Department of Immigration and Emigration was arrested by the CID this morning for allegedly issuing three fake passports to underworld operative ‘Kehelbaddara Padme’, the police said.

The Criminal Investigation Department sleuths took the Assistant Controller attached to the Passport Division of the DIE Head Office in Battaramulla.

Kehelbaddara Padme, who is currently in Dubai is wanted by the police for the slaying of underworld kingpin ‘Ganemulla Sanjeewa’.

Big Fish cannot operate without the big support of the small fish. Whether Politician or Gangster, they cannot perform their frauds and criminalities without support from the government entities who we refer as "henchies". When Immigration issued passports to Weerawansa and his wife, they would have noticed duplicate entries on their system, but they ignored it providing "hench-aiya" service to the Minister to obtain other personal favors. Sinhalese are known to be more easily influenced into this trap.

The Govt. should should pass a law that any public servant convicted of a serious crime automatically has a lifetime ban on being employed by the state, revoking any rights to a future Govt. pension. Get the message out and watch 90% of fraud and corruption in our society come to an end.
