Colombo, July 20 (Daily Mirror) - The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) Technical Engineers and Superintendents Association has announced plans to launch a protest on Tuesday, July 22.

Association Vice President Nandana Udayakumara said that the protest is being organized to express the collective opposition of employees across all professions within the CEB to the proposed Electricity Amendment Bill.

He claimed the bill would result in unfair treatment towards the CEB and its employees, and warned that further trade union action could follow if their concerns are not addressed.

If this was a deal signed RW with IMF then has to be honored . CEB officials may put their tails up being in Sri Lanka but we cannot play about with international organization as we are under obligation due to our very good governance in the past.

this is the MOST CORRUPT institution of EDUCATED people in sri lanka. do u guys know the top engineers INCOME TAX is oaid NOT BY them byt by CEB? these filthy lot own mini hydro dams and get commissions from oil imports to run furnaces in oil run power plants. if this govt is wise EXPEL ALL top engineers in CEB and employ young guns who propmote sustianable power generation.

These so-called technical engineers and superintendents of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) are the real culprits, often seeking personal gain from customers in addition to claiming overtime payments. Now, by attempting to organize a protest, they are implicitly threatening to neglect their duties by refusing to attend to breakdowns. In fact, there is a real risk they may even orchestrate faults or failures and then deliberately refrain from resolving them. This is a deplorable act of sabotage.
