Colombo, July 23 (Daily Mirror) - The Constitutional Council today approved the name of Supreme Court judge Preethi Padman Surasena as the new Chief Justice.

Justice Surasena's name was nominated by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake for the post. He becomes the 49th Chief Justice of Sri Lanka.

Please take steps to prevent the justice system victimizing us by repeatedly postponing even simple cases for years on end. It is putting off people seeking justice from your institution. Only people who are conniving among themselves and becoming super rich are the lawyers. They all have expensive cars and vacation in Europe. We slave around to make ends meet.
