Colombo, April 8 (Daily Mirror) - Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) officials conducted raids at the Dambulla Economic Centre on April 7 as part of an islandwide operation targeting the sale of rice at inflated prices.
During the inspections, several shops were found selling rice above approved rates, failing to display prices, and violating consumer protection regulations.
Authorities said legal action will be initiated against traders who breached the law, warning that continuous raids will be carried out to protect consumers from unfair pricing practices.
