Bus collision leaves one dead, 22 injured

A 32-year-old SLTB bus driver was killed and 22 others were injured when a private bus and an SLTB bus collided head-on at Weliyaya in Monaragala this morning, police said.

The injured passengers were admitted to the Monaragala Hospital for treatment. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Accidents every day and so little done so far. Roads are very narrow and that’s why the head to head collisions are happening and only way to solve this problem is to reduce the speed to 30mph with heavy penalties on all such roads until the roads are widened

Big talk big headed Transport minister has not done anything so far except talking about some bullshit AI cameras ( to help his comrade company to earn some money ) and constructing some toilets. No continous compulsory training to heavy vehicle drivers, no spot checks, no additions to traffic cameras, no proper enforcement of traffic rules.
