Bus carrying 20 Sri Lankan workers catches fire in Israel
A bus transporting 20 Sri Lankan youth employed in Israel's agricultural sector caught fire yesterday morning near Kiryat Malakhi, Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel said.
They said the bus was completely destroyed in the blaze. According to eyewitnesses, the fire broke out suddenly, and the passengers were forced to break the windows to escape, as the doors had become jammed.
One individual sustained a leg injury during the escape and has been admitted to hospital. His condition is reported to be non-serious.
Authorities in Israel are investigating the cause of the fire. All other passengers are safe.
