Bus Owners’ Assn. blames minister for non- implementation of fuel price formula

The Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association said the government should clarify the facts for the reason as to why there is no reduction in the price of fuel when the crude oil prices in the world market have slumped.

LPBOA Chairman Gemunu Wijeratne said the minister in charge had previously stated that fuel prices will be revised on the 1st and 15th of every month according to the fluctuation in fuel prices in the global market.

He said that the price formula should have been implemented as promised by Minister Kanchana Wijesekera.

The current fuel price should be kept as is for as long as possible even while even the world prices slump. It is more important to get more stocks of fuel consistently, and the once supply organised, then improve the CPC efficiency to allow it to lower fuel price without again losing money. There is often lack of dollars for fuel, and more rupee the CPC has the better chance it can get dollars in anyway possible while we have the damned fixed dollar rate.

The fuel price formulae when it was in place was condemned as a 'PLOY' by Mangala (then FM) and Yahapalanaya cabinet to increase CoL and fool the people and everybody (6.9M) clapped and cheered MaRa, when he promised to scrap the Fuel Price formulae and voted him in to power?? So what are you complaining now? Jokers Galore!
