Budget 2027 to be presented on November 12

Colombo, July 12 (Daily Mirror) - The Second Reading of the Appropriation Bill for the 2027 fiscal year is scheduled to be presented in Parliament on November 12.

According to the Ministry of Finance, preparations will begin with the draft Appropriation Bill, outlining expenditure estimates for each ministry, being submitted to the Cabinet for approval on September 14.

Following Cabinet approval, the bill is scheduled to be published in the Government Gazette on September 18, before being presented in Parliament for its First Reading on October 7.

The Ministry of Finance also announced that the Second Reading debate will be held from November 13 to November 20, while the Committee Stage (Third Reading) debate is scheduled from November 21 to December 14.
